FAQs

What is wrong with the stock Logitech paddles?

They use a rubber dome underneath, the same principle as a membrane keyboard. New, it feels acceptable. After a few hundred hours the dome softens and the actuation point becomes vague, so you start pressing harder than you need to and occasionally miss a shift entirely. Magnets do not wear out that way.

What does a magnetic shift feel like?

Short and definite. There is resistance building as you pull, then a clean break and a snap back. Because the travel is shorter, your finger returns to the ready position sooner — which is what matters on quick sequential upshifts and on downshift-brake overlap into a corner.

Will this make me faster?

Not on its own. What it changes is consistency: you stop losing the occasional shift to a soft press, and you stop thinking about the paddles at all. Over a race distance that is worth more than a single fast lap.

Does it fit the G923?

Yes. The G29, G920 and G923 share the same paddle assembly, so this mod fits all three.

Can I use this with a Raceact wheel mod?

Yes. The shifter mod sits in the wheelbase paddle assembly, so an F1 or GT3 rim bolts on over it as normal. Most customers running a wheel mod add this at the same time, and our mod kits bundle the two.
