Shift by light, not by sound
Shifting on engine sound works until you race a car you do not know well, or run a series where the optimal shift point sits below the rev limiter. RPM lights remove the guesswork. A progressive LED bar shows where you are in the rev range and a flash tells you to shift, which typically gains a tenth or two per lap before you have learned a new car.
They also matter for consistency. Late in a stint, when concentration drops, a visual cue in your peripheral vision is far easier to act on than audio you are half tuning out.
Compatibility and setup
The unit connects over USB and reads live telemetry through SimHub. That covers Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, iRacing, rFactor 2, Automobilista 2, F1 and Dirt Rally, among others. Colours, thresholds and flash behaviour are configurable per car, so you can set different shift points for a GT3 car and a formula car.
